Caffeine

Caffeine as every athlete knows is not a good thing for us.
It makes our muscles cramp when we need them most and it also dehydrates you quickly.
Therefore, I have sworn off caffeine.

It is driving me crazy. I haven't ever liked the taste of sprite, and I am not a big fan of lemonade; but that is all restaurants have that doesn't have caffeine in them.
The one good thing is I have found decaffeinated tea, so I don't have to give up sweet tea. YAY!!!!!.

Saber

I recently started fencing the style of saber. It is most interesting, you do not think nearly as much as you would in epee. I still love epee and plan on going to the Olympics in it, and maybe saber also.

Coach C is the saber coach in my club, he is a very good coach. I have not started competing yet, but hopefully start soon.

Atlanta NAC: Day 2

Sunday started out the same way that Friday did, we woke up at 6:00am we ate breakfast (Krispy Kreme Doughnuts....mmmmmmmm) and we drove to the venue. The bout committee was a little slower than on Friday, but still quicker than most of our local tournaments. Once again I had a pool of six other fencers three of whom would be Veteran(Older and craftier) fencers. My V/D was 4/2 which was amazing for me. the hardest bout was with an older fencer who was a left handed fencer and was classified as a B, I beat him 5-4 (the last touch was a double). I was surprised when they posted the pool results, I got 27th out of 99(although pool results don't determine the final out come but still) I was excited because I got a bye(which means I automatically went to the next round of DE's). I watched the bout that decided who I was going to fence it was a very close bout, in fact they went into priority(one only goes into priority if at the end of the bout both fencers have the same score. The referee flips a coin and decides who has priority and then the fencers are given one minuet to fence and whoever has a single touch or if time runs out and no single touch has been rewarded, who ever has priority wins the match). I fenced the guy for my DE and lost 15-6. I got 40th out of 99. I am very glad that I am done with this tournament and hope that I get to do more of these tournaments.
